Are you interested in gardening and keen to visit some gardens in Spain? You’d better strap yourself in then, because we’ve put together the perfect guide to planning your green-fingered trip to Spain. Each of our gardens is very different – as a result of its location, climate or history. In Andalusia, you’ll find the Moorish influenced courtyards and gardens with in-built irrigation canals and water features. In Madrid, you’ll find a very different offering with a more regal tone. And in Catalonia? You’ll see some Gaudi creativity and some Costa Blanca views to die for! Here at Totally Spain – the Spain based travel agent and specialists in custom travel to Spain since 2000 – we never cease to be inspired by these amazing gardens. Take a look for yourself and pick your must-see gardens in Spain.
The challenge when visiting Andalusia is often shortlisting what to see and do. Millions of people visit the region every year and most of those will be visiting the Cathedral of Seville, the Mezquita of Cordoba, and the Alhambra in Granada – which all feature in the top 15 monuments in Spain. Although we adore these places, these busy sights aren’t always what make a holiday really special. Our clients most-treasured memories in Andalusia often take place at the more unusual locations…
Held in the wonderful Botanic Gardens of Cordoba, the 13th International Sephardi music festival in Spain showcases the different traditions of Sephardic culture. This year’s programme of events includes concerts by Spanish and international artists, seminars, wine-tasting, cooking demonstrations, dance workshops, a children’s storytime and a documentary screening.
Here at Totally Spain we prepare hundreds of custom self-drive holidays around Spain every year and some of our clients even choose to tour in their own vintage or classic car. When we put together any package for car enthusiasts, we suggest a trip to one of the car museums in Spain which are so well put together that they are interesting even for those who aren’t diehard fan of old cars.
If you’ve never been to the very popular Cordoba Patio Festival in Andalusia why not visit this year? The event takes place every May with fifty or so patios competing for the title of best courtyard. As you can see, each one is prettier than the next – this is one of our favourite Spring festivals
