Spain is great for a family holiday but why a surfing package in Northern Spain you say? Not only is it historically a great place to surf – but we believe that the milder climate in Northern Spain is a bonus for families who want to be active in the middle of the day during the hot summer months. We also think you’ll enjoy the cultural amenities and the foodie vibe. Remember the tapas in the North are unbeatable!
Vitoria is a great destination for a parador weekend break and recently we did just that. We stayed at the Parador at Argomaniz in a tiny village just 14km from the city. It’s a wonderful 17th century renaissance palace – where Napolean lay his head before the assault on Vitoria. It’s always been beautiful but following a two-year renovation project, we heard it was looking better than ever and we were keen to see the new improvements for ourselves.
As you know Totally Spain customises itineraries for individuals and group visits to wineries all over the Spain and Portugal. Last weekend (for research purposes of course!) we went to discover what’s on offer for our wine-loving clients in one of the most charming smaller wine-producing regions in Northern Spain known as the Costa de Cantabria – and we loved it!
We’re just back from a trip to Asturias with a large group. It’s always a pleasure for us to spend some time there and this was no exception. Do you want to see some of the great seafood, lovely beaches and beautiful fishing ports we enjoyed?
We meet some great people in our line of business and we’ve asked a few of these colourful characters to guestblog for us over the coming months. First in the gallows is Galician-based writer and pig-lover John Barlow who tells us about his hometown – A Coruña in Galicia. Thanks John! It’s always a pleasure to read your work…
