We think everybody should see the passion and drama of the Pamplona bullrunning festival at least once in their lives – from the safety of the sidelines or up in a balcony with views of the action. The world-famous San Fermin festival held from 6-14 July is a busy one and it’s never too early to book your place.
Along with mealtimes in Spain, the topic of tipping and gratuities is one question that we often get asked about by our clients. Living and working here in Spain as we do (Totally Spain is Spain-based travel agent and specialist in custom travel to Spain since 2000), we’ve put together 15 concrete examples of when you should or shouldn’t tip in Spain below.
Most mornings on our way to the office in Cantabria we pass a few Camino de Santiago walkers doing the coastal route as they walk from Güemes to Somo to catch the ferry to Santander. It’s lovely to see the ‘peregrinos‘ or pilgrims with the St James shell on their backpacks. And when we get to the office, we often continue with the St James Way theme as we organise quite a few custom trips for people wanting to experience the Camino de Santiago in a multitude of ways.
If you’ve never been to the very popular Cordoba Patio Festival in Andalusia why not visit this year? The event takes place every May with fifty or so patios competing for the title of best courtyard. As you can see, each one is prettier than the next – this is one of our favourite Spring festivals
As a Spain-based travel specialist, there’s nothing we love more than exploring this amazing country. We (that is Ken and Belen of Totally Spain) have just returned from a Winter weekend break in the Cantabrian Picos de Europa Mountains with our two daughters and friends, Juan and Veronica, and their two young boys. The tourist season is about to kick off there and we were delighted to revisit this stunning part of Cantabria known as the Liebana Valley and see what it had in store for us and our clients. The result was a stunning weekend where we all agreed that the Great Cantabrian Outdoors is heaven made and ideal for visitors of all ages to enjoy. You simply have to go there. It’ll do you good.
