2013 has been a challenging year for many in Spain but one sector that has really bucked the downturn is tourism. Overall visitor numbers are up significantly and here at TotallySpain.com we have seen our numbers increase too. As we approach 2014, Ken Baldwin & Belen Encinas, the founders of Totally Spain, talk us through the past 12 months.
Totally Spain is delighted to have been approached a few weeks ago for sponsorship by a dynamic theatre company Tangram Theatre in London. We have since grown fond of these guys and their work and we’re looking forward to seeing their production of Lope de Vega’s Fuente Ovejuna in London this summer. They have a great track record and it’s some story!
Held in the UNESCO World Heritage listed city of Cordoba, this is the 12th International Sephardi music festival in Spain that showcases the different traditions of Sephardic culture. This year’s programme of events includes concerts by Spanish and international artists, seminars, wine-tasting, cooking demonstrations, dance workshops, a children’s storytime and a documentary screening.
Santander, as you may have heard, is the location for the 2014 International Sailing Federation ( ISAF ) Sailing World Championships. We are living and breathing the changes taking place in our home city in preparation for this wonderful sailing event. It’s an opportunity for lovers of sailing to witness a great championship – and if you’ve never been to Santander, September 2014 would be a great time to visit!
