Cantabria might not be the first region you think of when you think of Spanish cuisine but within Spain it’s becoming very fashionable to cook with Cantabrian ingredients and many of the local chefs have opened sister restaurants in Madrid to cater for the increase in popularity. Cantabria Cave Paintings – The Oldest Art?
One of the powerful draws to visiting the Northern coast of Spain are the Cantabria cave paintings. Being based here in Cantabria, they are literally on our doorstep and we love visiting them and include them in our Northern Spain itineraries. Everybody who visits is moved by the experience. And yes – almost everybody agrees that the paintings constitute the oldest art in Europe.
ISAF Sailing World Championships in Santander, Spain
Santander, as you may have heard, is the location for the 2014 International Sailing Federation ( ISAF ) Sailing World Championships. We are living and breathing the changes taking place in our home city in preparation for this wonderful sailing event. It’s an opportunity for lovers of sailing to witness a great championship – and if you’ve never been to Santander, September 2014 would be a great time to visit!
