It’s hard to believe that 20 years have passed since the titanium-clad Guggenheim museum by Frank Gehry catapulted the city to the front pages of all the travel glossies. This amazing museum is still a huge attraction today and the rest of the city has so much to offer also. We love its cuisine. And its bridges. It’s eclectic mix of neighbourhoods. And it’s so close to the Rioja Alavesa wineries and San Sebastian too! Totally Spain was set-up in the Basque Country in 2000 and we have arranged thousands of custom trips here for our valued clients. To encourage you to visit – if you haven’t already been here, we’ve put together this guide to 10 of our favourite things to do in Bilbao…

Totally Spain’s Guide to Walking Cantabria’s Camino Lebaniego
Here at Totally Spain we’ve been planning Camino itineraries for clients since we started out in business over 16 years ago. Being based in Cantabria, we are keen walkers and hikers in our own spare time and we’ve recently decided to take on our first Camino as a family in 2017. Our chosen route is the Camino Lebaniego (pronounced Leh-bahn-yeh-go) which is the name of the ancient pilgrimage route that weaves its way inland from the sandy and dramatic Cantabrian coastline to the impressive Picos de Europa mountain range.
Altamira Cantabria – One of the Many Reasons to Visit Cantabria
Altamira Cantabria – If you’ve seen ‘Altamira’ the movie starring Antonio Banderas, you are probably curious to see the stunning Cantabrian cave art discovered in 1879. At Totally Spain (we’re a Spain-based travel agent and specialist in custom travel to Spain since 2000), we’re lucky to be based near the real thing which we highly recommend that you visit for yourself. Cantabria, along with the Dordogne in France, is one of the best places in the world to experience world class cave art and so much more.
Northern Spain – What to See & Do
We’ve been designing custom trips around Northern Spain ever since Totally Spain started out back in the year 2000. You might not know but we initially set up our business in Vitoria in the Basque Country, which was then an unknown part of Spain. Today, we are still based in Northern Spain in Cantabria, and although we do plan trips for all over Spain and Portugal, we love planning trips around this superb region. To make it even easier for you to see what’s so great, here’s our insider guide on What to See & Do in Northern Spain.
Time Travel in Cantabria | Caves, Churches & Cobblestones

So you can step back in time, whenever you feel like it…
