Here, from our base in charming Cantabria, Totally Spain has been designing custom tours of Spain and Portugal since the year 2000. Nearly 18 years! Gastronomy is always an important part of any trip for our clients and we like to suggest at least one ‘special’ dining experience in each city or region. It’s hard to decide where to book when it comes to Michelin-star dining in Cantabria – so here’s our guide to helping you plan exactly that…
We’ve been designing custom trips around Northern Spain ever since Totally Spain started out back in the year 2000. You might not know but we initially set up our business in Vitoria in the Basque Country, which was then an unknown part of Spain. Today, we are still based in Northern Spain in Cantabria, and although we do plan trips for all over Spain and Portugal, we love planning trips around this superb region. To make it even easier for you to see what’s so great, here’s our insider guide on What to See & Do in Northern Spain.
When we started our travel business in 2000, we were planning lots of “once-in-a-lifetime” trips to Spain and our job was to make sure that all the “must-sees” were included on each itinerary. So much has changed since then. Because air travel has become much more affordable and it’s so easy to fly into new regional destinations, many of our clients are actively looking to avoid the “must-see” sights in exchange for something much more personal, new and fresh. They are looking for more boutique destinations in Spain.
Spain is great for a family holiday but why a surfing package in Northern Spain you say? Not only is it historically a great place to surf – but we believe that the milder climate in Northern Spain is a bonus for families who want to be active in the middle of the day during the hot summer months. We also think you’ll enjoy the cultural amenities and the foodie vibe. Remember the tapas in the North are unbeatable!
